Visit Bescom website www.bescom.org Click on online payment link One-time registration is mandatory Click Add button to add RR numbers Enter payment portal using User ID and password Enter card details to complete the transaction Confirmation of successful payment along with payment details appear on screen E-receipt will be mailed to you Ceiling limit per transaction is Rs 50,000
One can use their debit/ credit card (Visa and master) to pay power bill online but they will be paying 3% more i.e.1.5% towards transaction and 1.5 % service tax. but they can avoid standing in Que and getting power disconnected in spite of payment at Bangalore one counters.
As a matter of fact as per the Bescom rule one needs to verify and intimate the house in charge to keep the bill paid details before disconnecting the connection which is a normal practice. Once similar case happened in Mysore where in linemen disconnected the power connection without the notice of the occupant but later I filed a case in the consumer forum which has passed order to pay compensation plus asked to initiate departmental enquiry against the responsible officer.
