Income tax department has issued a public notice as they have around 3,00,000.00 e-filed return for which they havenot received signed copy of ITR-V.
Now IT department has given option to check the status of the same online for those e-filer who havenot used Digital signature while uploading their return online.

If you failed to resend signed copy of ITR -V to the address before 31st of December 2010 failing which IT department will mark your e-filed return as “REJECTED”
verified ITR-V form should be mailed to “Income Tax Department – CPC, Post Bag No – 1, Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore – 560100, Karnataka, ” BY ORDINARY POST OR SPEEDPOST ONLY within 120 days after the date of transmitting the data electronically.
ITR-V sent by Registered Post or Courier will not be accepted.
No Form ITR-V shall be received in any other office of the Income-tax Department or in any other manner. In case, Form ITR-V, is furnished after the above mentioned period, it will be deemed that the return in respect of which the Form ITR-V has been filed was never furnished and it shall be incumbent on the assessee to electronically re-transmit the data and follow it up by submitting the new Form ITR-V within 120 days. This completes the Return filing process for non-digitally signed Returns.
My form got rejected.Just know i checked that In my ITR-V form there is spelling mistake in my name.What should i do.
You need to file the return again with correct name.. as taxes are already paid you will not be asked to pay interest or penality
