Time limit for filing ITR-V forms relating to income tax returns extended to 31st July, 2011

CBDT has decided to extend the time limit for filing ITR-V forms relating to income tax returns for A.Y.2010-11 filed electronically(without digital signature) on or after 1st April 2010. These ITR-V forms can now be filed upto 31st July, 2011or within a period of 120 days from the date of uploading of the electronic return data, which ever is later.
The relaxation has been made since there are still a large number of electronic returns relating to A.Y.2010-11 which had been filed on or before the due date but for which the ITR-V forms have not yet been received at the Centralised Processing Centre (CPC), Banglore. These taxpayers are being given a final oppurtunity to send ITR-V forms to the CPC, Banglore by the date menioned in para 1 above.
The ITR-V forms should be send by ordinary post or speed post to
Post Bag no. 1, Electronic City Post Office,
Banglore – 560100 (Karnatka).
One can check online as to their ITR-V is received by the department or not online as well.
