Failed ATM transaction No charge | RBI guideline on ATM transaction charge

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reiterated the instructions to all banks vide their circular July 17,2010,that it is mandatory for banks to reimburse the customers,the amount wrongfully debited on account of failed ATM transactions,within a maximum period of 12 working days from the date of receiving the customers complaint.For any failure to re-credit the customers account within 12 working days from the date of receipt of the complaint,the bank has to pay compensation of 100 per day,to the aggrieved customer.
This compensation shall be credited to the customers account automatically without any claim from the customer,on the same day when the bank affords the credit for the failed ATM transaction.You may draw the attention of the bank to these instructions if the money has not yet been credited to your account.
